Freight loading for shipment to Russia’s seaports in January-July 2018 increased by 5.3% compared to the level during the same seven-month period in 2017, reaching 178.8 million tons.

Coal accounted for 46.5% of the total freight export turnover, followed by oil at 26.2%, ferrous metals at 8.9%, fertilisers at 6.7% and grain at 3.8%.

Loading of export freight consigned to ports in Russia’s North-West region in the first seven months of 2018 exceeded 75.7 million tons, an increase of 8.1% compared to the figure for the same period in 2017. About 44.2 million tons were shipped to the ports of Russia’s South, a slight decline of 0.7%, while loading to the ports in the Far East was about 58.8 million tons, up by 6.7%.
