Passengers on Strizh high-speed trains to be paid cash compensation in event of late arrivals
In order to improve the quality of passenger service, it has been decided to pay cash compensation at the destination station in the event that Strizh trains are late.
The amount paid will depend on how late the trains arrive at the destination station:
- for delays of 30 minutes to 60 minutes (inclusive) - 25% of the fare;
- for delays of 61 to 120 minutes (inclusive) - 50% of the fare;
- for delays of 121 minutes - 100% of the fare.
Passenger claims for financial compensation for late arrivals of Strizh trains are processed in 7 working days from the date of their submission.
Passengers can lodge their claims with the train master en route, who, in the event of an obvious delay, will inform passengers that they can complete the requisite forms.
No cash compensation is made to passengers for late Strizh trains if the delay was due to force majeure, the elimination of threats to passenger lives or health due to equipment malfunctions arising through no fault of Russian Railways and the Federal Passenger Company, or due to other circumstances outside the control of Russian Railways and the Federal Passenger Company.
