Russian Railways expands electronic trading and procurement platform

Russian Railways is simplifying the procedure to obtain the electronic signatures required to enter the Company's e-trading-purchasing site in order to improve the accessibility of small and medium businesses to competitive bidding.

This new product line available using electronic signatures consists of more than 100 available configurations, allowing customers the flexibility to select the parts they need for their work.

The Company has reduced the minimum cost of issuing an electronic signature by almost 40% effective from 1 May 2015.

The participants in the special auctions for small businesses, as well as bidders in real estate auctions on the electronic trading and procurement platform of Russian Railways, are being are offered a new service called "Signature Light" that provides a simplified procedure to obtain an electronic signature at a reduced cost.

The cost of issuing the certificate and obtaining the necessary software as part of the Signature Light service is 3,500 roubles (excluding VAT).

Obtaining the electronic signature in the regions will also become easier thanks to the creation of the branch network of the Certification Authority at NIIAS (Research and Design Institute for Information Technology, Automation and Communication on Railway Transport).

It is planned to open issuing centres in St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk by September 2015 as part of the first phase of the project to create the branch network.
