Temporary procedure for foreign nationals when crossing the state border of the Russian Federation

In accordance with Russian Government Order No. 635-r dated 16 March 2020, the entry of foreign nationals and stateless persons, including those arriving from the Republic of Belarus, as well as citizens of the Republic of Belarus, into the Russian Federation has been temporarily restricted effective from 00 hours 00 minutes (midnight) on 18 March 2020 in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in Russia.

This restriction will remain in force until 1 May 2020.

At the same time, citizens of the Russian Federation who are outside the country can return to Russia without hindrance using the document on which they departed.

As a result, all long-distance services with the Republic of Belarus will continue running according to the current timetable, but only Russian citizens will be able to cross the Belarusian-Russian border.

Refunds for unused tickets for trains crossing the Belarusian-Russian border will be carried out without making any additional charges and fees. Passengers can submit electronic tickets using the web resources through which they initially purchased the tickets.

Passengers can obtain detailed information on the procedure for receiving refunds money for unused tickets from the 24- hour Unified Information and Service Centre of Russian Railways on 8 (800) 775-00-00 when calling from within Russia and on +7 (499) 605-20-00 when calling from abroad.

Up-to-date information on changes to international train timetables can be obtained from the section International Routes / Operational Information on the website of Russian Railways.

Passengers should note that when booking tickets at a ticket office of the Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, and through the website of Russian Railways and the RZD mobile app, they can leave their mobile phone numbers in order to receive notifications of possible delays and changes to the timetables in the event of emergencies.
