The new international Lastochka express trains No. 717/718 and No. 721/722 between Moscow and Minsk run twice a day.

Passengers can view the layout and designs of the carriages under Lastochka New Standard-Premium in the section High-Speed Trains.

Travelling on the Lastochka

Lastochka trains with Premium configuration are specially designed for comfortable travel on long-distance routes.

Each train has 5 carriages capable of carrying 349 passengers.

Passengers are offered a choice of 3 service classes:

  • Business class (a specially designated area in carriage No. 5, 1P with meals),
  • Economy class (2P with services),
  • Basic class (2Zh, no services, transportation of pets is possible).

Lastochka trains are equipped with climate control systems with an air disinfection function, LED lighting, bio-toilets, sanitisers and coolers, as well as information display boards.

Business and economy class passengers can access the onboard multimedia portal Travel Companion [Travel Guide] with entertainment content such as films, books, music and printed publications.

On board the train you can buy food, souvenirs and items for the journey by paying cash in Russian roubles or making non-cash payments using bank cards attached to the international payment systems.

For passengers with disabilities, the Lastochka provides wheelchair lifts, as well as dedicated seats/berths with a wheelchair mount and a button to call the conductor.

Passenger information

Foreign citizens and citizens of the Russian Federation over 6 years old require a medical document confirming a negative result of a PCR test for COVID-19 in order to enter the Republic of Belarus.

Citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union member states (including from the Republic of Belarus) arriving in the Russian Federation from abroad by train and travelling to/in the Russian Federation must be tested no earlier than two days before arriving in Russia, and have a certificate confirming a negative COVID result, including using the Travel Without COVID-19 mobile app.

Procedures for crossing the Russian-Belarusian section of the border remain in place. Entering and leaving the territory of the Russian Federation by rail is temporarily restricted for citizens from third countries.

Citizens of the Russian Federation who were in the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Republic of Madagascar, the Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of Namibia, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Kingdom of Eswatini, the Republic of South Africa and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (HKSAR) during the previous 14 days before arriving in the territory of the Russian Federation, and arriving on the territory of the Russian Federation, must observe the quarantine regime for fourteen calendar days from the date of their arrival and undertake two PCR laboratory tests for COVID-19. The first test must be done within two days from the date of their arrival on the territory of the Russian Federation and the second test from the tenth to the twelfth day from the date of their arrival on the territory of the Russian Federation.
