Russian Railways project of high-speed electric trains "Lastochka" purchase falls within the Clean Transportation category within the Eligible Green Project Categories suggested by Green Bond Principles and Green Loan Principles standards of ICMA1.

The Lastochka electric train with asynchronous traction motors is designed to carry passengers on railways with a gauge of 1,520 mm at constant (3 kV) or alternating (25 kV) types of current in suburban and regional transportation. The flexibility of the internal layout allows the optimal adaptation of the electric train to the various operation requirements:

Electric train type - ES2G Standard / ES2G Premium / ES1P (3 kV / 25 kV);

Rated voltage on the current collector, kV 3 / 25 kV (50Hz);

The number of seats in electric trains of the ES2G Standard series (option 1 / 2) – 398 / 328 seats, 4 places for wheelchairs, 18 folding seats;

Premium and ES1P series 341 seats, including Business class - 12 seats, Tourist class - 329 seats, 2 seats for wheelchairs, 8 seats for staff.

 In comparison with car and airline transport, transport by "Lastochka" trains is associated with lower environmental impacts2.
