Oleg Valinsky

Deputy Managing Director, Head, Directorate of Locomotive Traction

Mr. Valinsky was born on 21 October 1961 in Leningrad.

In 1986, he graduated from the Dzerzhinsky Leningrad Technical College of Railway Transportation with a degree in Railway Operation. In 1997, he graduated from St. Petersburg State Transport University with a major in Transportation Organisation and Management.

Oleg Valinsky began his railway service in 1980 as a train inspector apprentice at the Leningrad-Sortirovochny-Moskovsky Station of the Oktyabrskaya Railway. He went on to work as a Duty Officer, Head of the Cargo District, and Deputy Head of the Leningrad-Sortirovochny-Moskosvky Station of the Oktyabrskaya Railway for Freight and Operational Management.

In addition, Oleg Valinsky worked as Head of the St. Petersburg Directorate for Freight Services and Commercial Operations of the Oktyabrskaya Railway, First Deputy Head of the St. Petersburg Branch, and Head of the Volkhovstroy and St. Petersburg–Vitebsk Branches of the railway.

2004–2008: Deputy Head of the Oktyabrskaya Railway for Transportation. In August 2008, Mr. Valinsky was appointed First Deputy Head of the Oktyabrskaya Railway, and in October 2014, he was promoted to Head of the Railway.

January 2016 – present: Vice President of JSC Russian Railways – Head of the Directorate for Traction.

November 2017: Appointed Deputy Managing Director – Head of the Directorate for Traction, JSC Russian Railways.
