Sverdlovsk Railways organising transportation of food products from Yekaterinburg to China in cooperation with Agroexpress accelerated container service
Sverdlovsk Railways has implemented a project for the delivery of a large batch of bottled sunflower oil in 41 forty-foot containers from Yekaterinburg to China in cooperation with the Agroexpress service.
An accelerated container train departed from the Yekaterinburg-Tovarny station on 11 November 2021 and will proceed to Shanghai after passing through the Zabaikalsk-Manchuria border crossing.
Sverdlovsk Railways has developed a comprehensive service for the client, which includes loading containers at the manufacturer’s site with subsequent delivery to the railway terminal by road, processing the necessary package of shipping documents, and forming and dispatching the train.
The express container train will proceed to its destination at an increased speed in accordance with a specially developed timetable.
This is the client’s first export shipment of a large consignment of goods which utilises a direct railway connection with China.
The possibility of organising such transportation on a regular basis is currently under consideration, reports the Corporate Communications Service at Sverdlovsk Railways.
Agroexpress is a specialised service provided by RZD Logistics and the JSC Russian Export Centre to delivery products made by Russia’s domestic agro-industrial complex to China, Turkey and the CIS countries using express container trains.
Thanks to well-organised logistics, as well as the available subsidies, the Agroexpress can achieve significant reductions in delivery times and transport costs for Russian exporters.
