Russian Railways and Belarusian Railways sign cooperation agreement
Oleg Belozerov, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, and Vladimir Morozov, Head of Belarusian Railways, signed a cooperation agreement between their two companies during a video link up on 3 February 2021.
The document defines the cooperation procedures and the conditions for passenger and freight train transportation, the procedure for transferring wagons, containers and cargo and maintaining the railway infrastructure between transfer stations.
“I would like to thank you for the important initiative in concluding this agreement, an agreement that will take our joint work on the border areas of our two countries to a new level,” said Oleg Belozerov.
As the text of the agreement makes clear, the technical conditions and equipment of the transfer stations and the infrastructure of the adjacent rail sections of the two companies must ensure train safety and movement, the safety and health of employees and passengers, the security of the transported goods, the fulfillment of the planned traffic volumes and the operations for receiving and dispatching trains etc.
