Shuya railway station in Ivanovo Region reopens after reconstruction
On 17 December 2020, Shuya railway station in the Ivanovo Region celebrated a grand reopening after undergoing a comprehensive overhaul.
The event was attended by Stanislav Voskresensky, Governor of the Ivanovo Region, Dmitry Pegov, Deputy Managing Director of Russian Railways, Valery Tanaev, Head of the Northern Railways, and other officials.
“This beautiful and comfortable station complex has a rich past and, I am sure, a great future. By opening the station in the run-up to the New Year holidays, we have expanded Shuya’s possibilities and increased its tourist potential. The station’s services will be used not only by residents, but also by numerous visitors to the city and the region,” said Dmitry Pegov.
Since the station building is an object of cultural heritage, the renovation work was carried out with an eye to preserving its historical appearance and elements of the external and internal decoration.
