Oleg Belozerov: “Russian Railways has created the right conditions for increased rail traffic in 2021”
“The participants in the rail transportation market have generally managed to adapt well to the crisis and the industry is ready for growth next year,” said Oleg Belozerov, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways.
Belozerov was speaking on 6 November 2020 during a meeting with the heads of railways on the results of the Company’s work during the previous ten months to the end of October 2020.
He also said that the country’s leadership had given top marks to the work of Russian Railways and the results it had achieved so far this year.
“We are therefore obliged to fulfill all plans in a timely manner, and move even faster across a whole range of areas,” Oleg emphasised.
According to Belozerov, the Company has all the requirements at hand to achieve these aims. From January to October, the planned parameters for the main production indicators were met and in October itself it was possible to achieve an increase of 0.3% in loading volumes compared to last year’s level. Average wages increased by 5% compared to the same period last year, while real wages increased by 1.8%.
The Company’s Board also summed up the results of the online competition for the III quarter, with 203 teams recognized as winners. Among the railway subsidiaries, Krasnoyarsk Railways came in first, followed by Sverdlovsk Railways in second place and the Kuibyshevsk Railways in third.
