Sapsan becomes laureate of transport award for on-board service
The high-speed Sapsan train emerged as the winner of the XI annual award “Consumer Rights and Quality of Service” in the category “Railway Transportation” for its development of the provided service and improvement of on-board services.
In December 2019, the updated Sapsan train undertook its maiden voyage following changes at the request of passengers. Major improvements have been made to the train’s interior. Sockets for charging mobile devices and USB connectors have been installed at each seat of every carriage, the lighting brightness is adjusted depending on the time of day, window shades have been replaced, coolers with drinking water have been installed, and the upholstery and seat covers updated.
Today the renewed Sapsan is in service as part of trains No. 771Н operating between St. Petersburg - Nizhny Novgorod on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, No. 757Н between Nizhny Novgorod - St. Petersburg on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and Nos. 757А and 774A running between St. Petersburg and Moscow on Sundays.
Russian Railways continues to modernise its Sapsan trains.
