Temporary suspension of rail links with China
In accordance with a letter from the Chief State Sanitary Physician for Railway Transport of the Russian Federation dated 2 February 2020, from 00:00 Moscow time on 3 February 2020 until further notice, the following passenger train services and direct carriages with the People"s Republic of China have been temporarily suspended to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection on the territory of the Russian Federation:
- train No. 3/4 Beijing –Moscow operated by Chinese Railways;
- train No. 320/20-19/319 Chita – Zabaikalsk to Beijing;
- direct Moscow – Beijing carriages attached to trains No. 2/1, No. 320/319 and No. 20/19. The non-stop Moscow – Beijing carriages departing from Moscow on 1 February 2020 will proceed via Moscow – Zabaikalsk.
Passenger rail services between Russia and China are thus being temporarily suspended.
International passenger train No. 402/401 Suifenhe- Grodekovo, which is operated by Chinese Railways and passes through the Grodekovo – Suifenhe railway border checkpoint, as well as the direct group of carriages running between Chita – Manzhouli, which is operated by Russia’s Federal Passenger Company and passes through the Zabaikalsk – Suifenhe checkpoint, had previously been suspended.
Passengers can return unused tickets for cancelled trains and direct carriages issued and booked at Russian points of sale without incurring any charges or fees.
