Russian Railways and NYK Auto Logistics agree to develop transit transportation of passenger cars from China to Europe
Russian Railways and NYK Auto Logistics, a leading provider of logistics services for finished vehicles, have entered into an agreement to cooperate on developing the transit transportation of passenger cars through the territory of the Russian Federation by rail.
Viktor Golomolzin, the Head of October Railways, a branch of Russian Railways, and Alexander Larin, the Managing Director of NYK Auto Logistics, signed the agreement while attending the XVI International Forum on the Development of Transport Corridors TRANSTEC on 22 September 2021.
The signatories to the agreement will begin to implement the joint project shortly. As soon as October this year, the first shipment of finished cars from China to Europe will be delivered through St. Petersburg’s ports.
It is planned to deliver up to 10,000 vehicles annually under the agreement.
