A major strategic objective of the Company is to take full advantage of Russia’s key geographical position by fully integrating the Russian railway system into the Eurasian transport network.

Russian Railways is therefore engaged in the ongoing expansion and upgrading of East-West and North-South international transport corridors to provide freight operators and forwarders with highly competitive "door-to-door" transport solutions across the continent.

The huge savings in time and money made possible by the international transport corridors compared to the sea routes taken by container ships will enable Russian Railways to greatly increase volumes and revenues going forward
