JSC FGC transported a total freight volume of 197 million tons in 2017. The freight turnover of JSC FGC wagons amounted to 409.5 billion ton-kilometres. The average daily loading volume was 8,200 units of rolling stock. The productivity of open box cars increased by 7%. In 2017, JSC FGC increased its share of the freight transportation market on the network of Russian railways to 14%, a rise of 0.6 percentage points compared to 2016, while its share of freight turnover reached 16.2%, up by 0.7 percentage points on the previous year. The Company’s share of the Russian wagon fleet grew by 1.2 percentage points measured by the mid-year average to 151,500 units of rolling stock.
JSC FGC’s freight base in 2017 was composed as follows:
- coal – 88 million tons (49.9%);
- mineral and construction materials – 54 million tons (30%);
ores – 15 million tons (8.6%);
- ferrous metals – 2 million tons (7%)
