The Khasan – Rajin Project

Restoration of 54 km railway from the station. Khasan (Russia) to the port of Rajin (DPRK) is positioned as a pilot project for reconstruction of the Trans-Korean Railway.

September 22, 2013 the ceremony of commissioning of the reconstructed railway section Khasan - Rajin, which marked the completion of the first phase of the project. In 2014, commissioned a new transshipment terminal at the port of Rajin.

The project is the reconstruction of the Khasan - Rajin implemented during the 2008-2014 biennium. joint venture "RasonKonTrans." In November 2014 and April 2015 was successfully conducted by experienced coal transportation in transit through the port of Rajin in South Korea. Thus, the conditions for the organization of regular traffic through the port of Rajin to the South Korean recipients.

The planned volume of traffic through the port of Rajin in 2015 - 1.4 million tons.

The capacity of the site Hassan - Rajin and the terminal is 5 million tons of cargo a year.

Simultaneously, work with South Korean partners for further joint project, including the restoration of the entire Trans-Korean Railway. Relevant intentions laid down in the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 13 November 2013 during the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to South Korea.
