Rail Export via Sea Ports Rising

According to Russian Railways, the loading of cargo designated for export via Russian sea ports made 281.4 mn tons during January-November 2019 increasing 3.4% year-on-year.

50.6% of the entire volume is coal growing by 8.8% during the period under report. Coal loading designated for South Russian ports surged by 35.8% year-on-year up to 13.3 mn tons, that to North-Western ports increased by 4.3% up to 49.7 mn tons, and that to the Russian Far East by 8% up to 79.5 mn tons.

Oil accounted for 26.6% of the total export rail freight, ferrous metals for 7%, and fertilizers for 6.9% of the total.

119.5 mn tons, 3.3% more than in January-November 2018, was designated for the North-West sea ports.

The Southern region ports accounted for 68.2 mn tons, down 0.4% year-on-year.

Cargo volume loaded for export via the ports of the Russian Far East made 93.7 mn tons, up 6.4% year-on-year.

In November 2019, export rail cargo loading designated for the Russian sea ports made 27 mn tons, up 3.4% month-on-month.
