Russian Railways' network loads 96 m tons in February 2017
According to the latest figures, the network owned by Russian Railways loaded 96 m tons of freight in February 2017, 0.9% more than during the 29 days of February 2016.
In February 2017, freight turnover increased compared to February 2016 by 2.2% and amounted to 189.1 bn tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs increased by 2.2% during the same month and amounted to 242.8 bn ton-km.
According to the latest figures, the loading volume in January-February 2017 amounted to 196.1 m tons, which is 3.8% more than in the same two months last year.
The railways loaded the following freight in January and February 2017. Figures in brackets show the percentage change compared to January-February 2016.
Freight turnover since the beginning of 2017 amounted to 392.6 bn tariff ton-km, an increase of 6.7%. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was up 6.5% to 505 bn ton-km.
