RZD Holding organises container shipments from China’s Shandong province to Moscow Region
The RZD Holding has expanded the geography of rail transportation from China to Russia. On 13 November 2018, a container train was dispatched from Zibo in Shandong Province for the first time.
The train is expected to arrive at Selyatino station in the Moscow region in 14 days.
RZD Logistics organised the "first mile" of the delivery of forty-foot containers with consumer goods, equipment and vehicles to Zibo station by road. Then, 36 containers were reloaded onto the railway.
The train will pass through China, Mongolia and Russia via the Zamyn-Uud and Naushki border crossings before arriving at its final destination, Selyatino station in the Moscow region.
Services along the new route are expected to commence on a regular basis.
The RZD Holding is consistently expanding its transportation geography based on the needs of shippers.
The starting point of the new route, the city of Zibo, is a large industrial centre with a developed railway infrastructure, which lends the project great potential.
Shippers in the eastern part of China are increasingly choosing to transport their freight by rail, which ensures high speed deliveries and cargo security.
