Almost 18,000 voters cast their ballots at railway stations

At the Russian presidential elections on 18 March 2018, 17,600 voters cast their ballots at 40 polling stations at the largest railway stations of Russian Railways.

The highest number of voters turned out at Novosibirsk-Main station (1,990), Belaya Kalitva (1,537) and Kazan station in Moscow (1,423).

Railway staff who were on duty on 18 March were able to vote at the railway stations, as well as citizens registered in the ward where railway station’s polling station was located and transit passengers who had previously notified the Central Electoral Commission about their desire to vote at the railway station rather than at their place of residence.
