Allegro train passenger traffic up 12.6% in October
In October 2019, Allegro high-speed trains transported more than 45,300 passengers between St. Petersburg and Helsinki, 12.6% more than in October 2018. In the ten months of 2019 to the end of October, Allegro trains carried a total of nearly 469,200 passengers, 15.6% than during the same period last year.
Since the launch of the international high-speed service between St. Petersburg and Helsinki on 12 December 2010, Allegro trains have transported almost 3.8 million people.
Flexible fares and marketing initiatives, as well as the appointment of special dual trains with twice the usual number of carriages on days of increased demand, help to make the Allegro services increasingly attractiveness to passengers.
Passengers can obtain detailed information about the Allegro timetable and fares, as well book tickets at railway ticket offices, online on the official website of the Russian Railways and using the RZD Passengers mobile app.
When selling tickets, payments are made in roubles at the rate set by the Central Bank of Russia on the day the tickets are booked.
