Russian companies present rail transport capabilities to potential Indian partners
Companies participating in the Russian Railway Initiative for India have presented their capabilities to potential customers and partners, representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Ministry of Railways of India.
The presentations took place in a roundtable format in New Delhi on 23 October 2019 as part of the business programme of the 13th International Railway Industry Exhibition of India.
Representatives of Russian Railways, Sinara Transport Machines, RZD International, EXIAR and ELTESA also took part in the event, which was organised with the support of Sberbank Russia.
The roundtable discussed aspects of the development of the North-South International Transport Corridor and the infrastructure project to increase passenger train speeds up to 200 kph on the Nagpur-Secunderabad railway line.
Together with its subsidiary RZD International LLC, Russian Railways also presented an exhibition with information on logistics products and services, their experience of international projects, a digital railway project operated on Russia’s railways, state-of-the-art rolling stock, transportation management technologies and other products and services.
An agreement on cooperation within the framework of the Russian Rail Initiative for India had previously been signed by 7 Russian companies on 4 September 2019 within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, which was held in Vladivostok. The 7 Russian companies were Russian Railways, RZD International, EXIAR, Sberbank of Russia, Sinara Transport Machines, ELTESA and NIIAS.
According to the document, the parties expressed their readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation on the joint implementation of complex infrastructure projects in the Republic of India related to the design, construction and modernisation of railway infrastructure facilities and the delivery and localisation of the production of railway equipment, equipment and materials.
