Russian Railways is ready to create joint innovative products with foreign partners for promotion on international markets

The forum Austrian Technology Day has been held as part of the 1520 Space International Railway Salon PRO//MOVEMENT. EXPO, which is currently taking place in Shcherbinka in Greater Moscow.

Taking part were Oleg Belozerov, Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Russian Railways, Andreas Reichhardt, Austria’s Federal Minister for Transport, Innovation and Technology, and Andreas Matte, Managing Director of Austrian Railways (ÖBB).

Opening the forum, Oleg Belozerov noted that the rail sectors in Russia and Austria had been undertaking long-standing cooperation in the field of modern technology. He also emphasised that Russian Railways paid particular attention to the RZD Holding’s scientific and technical development, technology transfer and the active introduction of innovations.

"For us, more than ever, the most promising areas are the development of railway infrastructure, increasing the volume of freight transportation, including transit, and the unification of operational rules and standards, as well as improving the quality of services we provide. Today, solving these important tasks is impossible without very smart breakthrough technologies," said Oleg Belozerov.

In order to meet modern economic and competitive challenges, technological interaction both nationally and globally should be constant, efficient and comprehensive, said the head of Russian Railways.

At the same time, achieving the goals that the Company had set itself today was possible only if the appropriate development of information technologies ensures business efficiency, lower transaction costs and customer focus.

Oleg Belozerov also said that the transition from direct procurement to the creation and promotion of joint products was important.

"We envisage the realisation of the best competencies on international markets. We have something to show our partners and for our part how to provide unique competitive advantages," emphasised Oleg Belozerov.
