Russian Railways adopts new anti-corruption plan for 2018-2020

Russian Railways has developed a new anti-corruption plan for 2018-2020 in accordance with the provisions of the National Anti-Corruption Plan for 2018-2020 and the Company’s normative documents which regulate its activities with regard to preventing and combating corruption.

The Company’s main task is to create an atmosphere of zero tolerance towards corruption among its staff and employees, with the emphasis on improving anti-corruption legal awareness and education.

The plan therefore includes measures aimed at preventing and combating corruption in the Company’s procurement, identifying the causes and circumstances of corruption, resolving conflicts of interest, improving the effectiveness of awareness and educational campaigns about activities that contribute to the formation of anti-corruption behaviour and the development of an anti-corruption legal awareness.

In addition, it is planned to conduct annual anonymous sociological surveys and studies to evaluate the anti-corruption policy conducted by OJSC Russian Railways. The findings from these surveys and studies will provide an effective feedback system.

Specialised commissions are also being set up to resolve conflicts of interest, while effective cooperation is taking place with the law enforcement agencies and prosecution service. Criminal and administrative cases of corruption offenses are being monitored.

The plan also includes measures for the Company’s subsidiaries to develop and adopt their own plans to counter corruption.
