Enterprises at the South-Eastern Infrastructure Directorate take delivery of new equipment
Since the beginning of 2018, enterprises which handle the ongoing maintenance of the railway lines at the South-Eastern Infrastructure Directorate have taken delivery of more than 200 units of small-scale mechanised and specialised equipment and vehicles.
The new equipment includes 39 hydraulic sets for adjusting the gaps in the rail joints, a modular compressor station for clearing switches from snow during the winter, 27 track clearance sets, 7 mobile power stations, modern rail cutting and drilling machines, a tractor-excavator with attachments and 4 "flying units" for transporting crews and equipment to the place of work, as well as a residential Yermak carriage for employees which is equipped with all necessary life support systems.
This upgrading of production equipment will significantly improve the quality of ongoing work, reduce labour input and costs, increase productivity and improve working conditions for employees, said the corporate communications service of the South-Caucasian Railways.
