The Company is fulfilling its social obligations to the workforce, veterans and pensioners in full. The Collective Agreement is strictly enforced and wages are regularly indexed.
The head of Russian Railways said that this year, the Company was also setting an absolute record for freight transportation on Russia’s railways.
"Over the past few weeks, we have reached record levels for the transit of freight trains, which means that we have reserves, but we need to develop and move forward. Even now we are exceeding the freight turnover by 2.5% in 1988. This year we should set the absolute record ever reached on the rail network," he said.
Analysing the production figures for the current year, Oleg Belozerov noted that in January-July 2018, the tariff freight turnover increased by 4.6% compared to last year. Taking into account empty runs of private wagons, the tariff freight turnover increased by 4.4%. In total, 749.4 million tons of cargo were loaded, 3% more than last year.
Summarising the July 2018 results, the head of OJSC Russian Railways noted the high level of work organisation during the period when the "Increased Readiness" regime was in place. The number of violations of traffic safety fell by 20%.
"We continue to work seriously to improve the processes on the construction side, we are implementing modern digital methods of design and the development of digital images of objects, end-to-end electronic interaction and online monitoring of current work and plans," said Oleg Belozerov with regard to the Company"s investment programme.
In conclusion, the head of Russian Railways congratulated all the Holding’s workers, veterans and their families on the Day of Railway Workers and reminded everyone that charity races were planned in honour of the 5 August holiday throughout the country.
As in previous years, the money collected will be donated to the treatment of seriously ill children who are in the care of charitable foundations.
