Oleg Belozerov discusses industry’s future with young Austrian railway staff

Oleg Belozerov, the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, has met with the Austrian staff who are taking part in the Young Talents experience exchange programme between young employees at Russian Railways and Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB - Austrian Federal Railways).

The Company Chairman called the experience exchange programme an important link in strengthening interaction between the two companies. According to the head of Russian Railways, cooperation in areas such as infrastructure development and improvement of approaches to work with clients is necessary to create a new quality of transportation services.

“Synergy is becoming more important now. I am confident that it can be achieved through the exchange of technological features, but the main effect will be working in a single team of international teams,” Oleg Belozerov told the young specialists.

Oleg Belozerov also stressed the importance of introducing unified railway standards that allow the development of efficient traffic flows in conditions of increasing volumes of transit traffic between China and Europe and that offer flexible and competitive logistical services to customers.

As a new perspective direction of cooperation, Oleg Belozerov cited the project of constructing a broad gauge 1520 mm railway line between Košice, Bratislava and Vienna.

Within the framework of their visit to Russia, Austrian specialists will visit the facilities owned by Russian Railways in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as the port of Ust-Luga and the Luzhskaya sorting station.

A return visit of Russian railway workers will take place in the autumn.
