Loading of export freight to ports increased by 5% during January-May 2018
Loading of freight dispatched to seaports in January-May 2018 amounted to 128.9 million tons, 5% more than during the same period in 2017.
Coal shipped to ports increased by 4%, ferrous metals by 6%, fertilisers by 12.8%, grain by 65.9%, paper by 7% and timber by 17.1%.
Coal accounted for 45.7% of the total freight exported, oil for 26.7%, ferrous metals for 9%, fertilisers for 6.9% and grain for 4.2%.
Loading of export freight shipped to the ports of Russia’s North-West during January to May 2018 amounted to about 55.4 million tons, an increase of 9.9% on the same period in 2017. Freight shipped to ports in South Russia fell to 31.9 million tons, a decrease of 2.5%, while loading for the ports of Russia’s Far East exceeded 41.5 million tons, an increase of 5%.
