Grain loading for export on the network of Russian Railways increased by more than 1.6 times In January-March 2018

Grain loading volumes during the first quarter from January to March 2018 on the network of Russian railways amounted to about 7.5 million tons, 41.5% more than in the same period in 2017.

At the same time, more than 4.6 million tons of grain were dispatched for export, an increase of 65.6% compared to 2017.

In terms of the volume of grain loaded in the first quarter, the leaders were the following oblasts or regions: Saratov, with 648,200 tons, up by a factor of 2.9, Tambov (540,800 tons, + 97.7%), Volgograd (517,000 tons, up by a factor of 2.2), Kursk (499,000 tons, up by 24.1%), Lipetsk (417,800 tons, up by a factor of 2.1) and Voronezh (405,200 tons, up by 69%).

The most positive dynamics of loading in January-March was observed in productive oblasts such as Novosibirsk (185,300 tons, up by a factor of 2.9), Penza (283,800 tons, up by a factor of 2.5), Astrakhan (260,000 tons, up by a factor of 2.4), Samara (160,100 tons, up by a factor of 2.3), Ulyanovsk (76,700 tons, up by a factor of 2.3), Orenburg (228,000 tons, up by a factor of 2.1), Omsk (299,900 tons, up by 67.3%) and Orel (250,100 tons, up by 62.2%).

In order to attract additional freight volumes, the Company’s board decided to set a reduction factor of 0.897 (that is, a 10.3% discount) to tariffs for the export of grain from stations located in the Voronezh, Orel, Tambov, Orenburg, Saratov, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kursk , Lipetsk, Penza, Samara, Ulyanovsk and Kurgan oblasts through Russian ports in our own rolling stock and containers.

Falling under the discount are wheat, rye, oats, barley, corn, rice, buckwheat, beans, peas, beans and other grains. The discount will be valid until 30 June 2018 inclusive.
