Wild Russia festival opens at Central House of Artists with partnership of Russian Railways
On 26 January 2018, Russian Railways presented a project entitled “The Main Line: Safeguarding Clear Water” as part of the opening ceremony of the “Wild Russia” festival.
Russian Railways has been a partner of the “Wild Russia” festival for 5 years. This year, the Company presented a series of 18 artistic photos taken in different parts of the country and especially the Far East, the Black Sea coast and Russia’s central belt. The photos reveal the unifying theme of the harmonious juxtaposition of two elements: water: rivers, lakes and seas – and earth: metal incorporated into rails, bridges and trains.
“The landscapes on display help visitors to reflect on the aesthetic pleasure to be gained by travelling by train across our country, and at the same time to understand how fragile and vulnerable the world of wild and pristine nature is and how delicately and carefully it should be treated. To our Company, environmental and ecological activities are no less important than ensuring the movement of trains. Visitors to the Wild Russia festival can therefore see from the photos the harmony in which nature and the railways exist alongside each other," said Anatoly Meshcheryakov, Secretary of State and First Deputy Managing Director of Russian Railways, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
The Wild Russia festival will be held from 26 January to 25 February 2018 at the Central House of Artists on the Crimean Wall in Moscow.
Residents of other cities in Russia and abroad will be able to see the exhibition after it closes in Moscow.
