Digital Transport Research Centre to be established with participation of Russian Railways
The President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, the Rector of the New Economic School Shlomo Weber, the President of the National Computer Corporation Alexander Kalinin and the Managing Director of IBM in Russia and the CIS Andrei Filatov have signed a quadripartite cooperation agreement in the field of transport digitalization.
The signing took place in the presence of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.
In accordance with the agreement, it is planned to create a permanent Digital Transport Research Centre at the New Economic School to systematise research and best practices in the digital economy. Domestic and international companies with experience in the research and development of digital transport solutions will be involved in the Centre’s work on the basis of partner agreements.
The Centre’s main activities will included the organisation of research and training of specialists, the consolidation of Russian developers in accordance with international standards and the creation and development of a virtual working environment that unites Russian and international players on the digital solutions market for the transport industry.
The agreement was signed at the international conference "Digital Transformation in Motion: How to Develop the Potential of Russia's Digital Economy in Transport" at the Open Innovations 2017 Forum, which is being held at the Skolkovo Technopark.
The conference has been organised by the Russian Economic School with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation in cooperation with Russian Railways and the National Computer Corporation, as well as in cooperation with technology and industry partners.
Top managers from Russia’s transport industry, as well as scientists and leading international experts, are taking part in the conference.
