Russian Railways' network transported 80.05 million passengers in March 2016
According to the latest figures, in March 2016 Russian Railways transported 80.05 million passengers on its own infrastructure, 1.9% less than in March 2015. Suburban passenger numbers were down 2.1% to 73.30 million, while long-distance passengers remained at the same level as in March 2015, namely 6.74 million.
Passenger turnover reached 7.71 billion passenger-kilometres in March 2016, 2.9% less than in March 2015.
In January-March 2016, the Company's network carried 221.1 million passengers, down 1.6% compared to January-March 2015. Long-distance passengers fell to 20.4 million, a decline of 0.9%, while suburban passenger numbers were down to 200.7 million, 1.6% less than in the first quarter of 215.
Passenger turnover on the Russian Railways' network decreased by 2.6% in the first quarter of 2016 compared to last year and amounted to 23.1 billion passenger-km.
