Russian Railways to lay on more than 200 additional long-distance trains during May 2016 holidays


The Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, will lay on more than 200 additional long-distance trains, departing from 27 April to 11 May, in order to meet the demand for more passenger transport during the May 2016 holidays.

Additional trains will run on the most popular routes: from Moscow to St. Petersburg, Kostroma, Vologda, Kazan, Novozybkov, Cheboksary, Saransk, Belgorod, Lgov and Penza, and from St. Petersburg, Russia's northern capital, to Murmansk, Ostashkov, Kursk, Chelyabinsk and other cities.

During the peak holiday period, maximum passenger demand to the regions is expected on 29 April and 6 May, and on 3 and 9 May in the opposite direction.
