Russian Railways sets up commission to regulate conflicts of interest
Oleg Belozerov, Company President, has signed a Decree to set up a commission to regulate conflicts of interest at Russian Railways.
The Commission for the Settlement of Conflict of Interests at Russian Railways was established in order to improve the work on combating corruption, implement measures to identify and eliminate the causes and conditions that contribute to a conflict of interest and strengthen the personal responsibility of employees and managers at Russian Railways for violations of anti-corruption legislation.
"We shall introduce advanced anti-corruption practices and focus particular attention on them," said the Company President at the working meeting in Moscow.
According to the Decree, the main tasks of the commission are:
- to ensure that personnel comply with restrictions and prohibitions and carry out the requirements on the prevention or settlement of conflicts of interest;
- to identify and eliminate any causes and conditions conducive to the emergence of a conflict of interest;
- to examine and resolve any conflicts of interest in an objective and timely manner, as well as protect the legitimate interests of the Russian Railways and the rights of the Company's employees;
- to implement measures to prevent corruption.
