Railway workers and machine builders in North America, Europe and Asia praise experience of Russian Railways in reconstructing Small Ring at Moscow Railways
Representatives of twenty railway administrations and companies engaged in manufacturing railway equipment in Europe, Asia and North America have familiarised themselves with the reconstruction of the Small Ring at Moscow Railways (SR MR). The familiarisation visit of representatives from the foreign partners of Russian Railways was part of the IX Annual Rally of Young People at the RZD Holding.
During a meeting with foreign partners, Dmitry Shakhanov, Vice-President of Russian Railways, said that the reconstruction and opening of passenger traffic on the SR MR was one of the Company's key infrastructure projects today and is followed closely by the management of Russian Railways and the Moscow government.
During the event, the Company's foreign partners visited a number of infrastructure facilities, including the Luzhniki transport interchange hub and the City stopping point currently under construction.
According to the French national railway company SNCF, such projects are relevant for every European capital and apply the most advanced technologies and high environmental standards.
The project to reconstruct the Small Ring at Moscow Railways has been underway since 2012. Russian Railways is building 31 stops, reconstructing and constructing bridges and overpasses, electrifying the Ring, modernising infrastructure and carrying out other work.
