Russian Railways announces results of competition for best quality rolling stock and integrated technical systems in 2015
Valentin Gapanovich, Senior Vice President of Russian Railways, today presented awards to mangers of enterprises who had won the competition at Russian Railways for the best quality rolling stock and integrated technical systems. He made the presentations at the V International Rail Salon EXPO 1520 now being held in Moscow.
Russian Railways established the competition as a unique way to summarise the annual assessment of the effectiveness of the Company's activities aimed at improving the quality of railway technology used in real projects.
Taking part in the competition enables business leaders to show their personal interest in safety issues and the quality of their goods and services, thus focusing their entire team on achieving the desired goals.
The Company selected the following winners in 2015.
In the category Rolling Stock for 2015, 1st place was awarded to OJSC Altaivagon for its 12-2142 open wagon model, 2nd place to OJSC Tver Carriage Works for its double-decker dining car model 61-4473, and 3rd place to the Chelyabinsk Car Repair Depot, a subdivision of OJSC Wagon Repair Company-2, for modernising open wagons and extending their service.
In the category Components for Rolling Stock and Infrastructure, the winner was the Scientific and Production Association of Automatics named after academician N.A.Semikhatov, which developed a control cabin for the 2ES10 Granite locomotive. Second place went to BetElTrans for its prestressed concrete sleepers, Type II and III with rod reinforcements, and 3rd place to SKF Tver LLC for Class G axle units.
First place in the category System Diagnostics and Control was awarded to the Research and Production Centre Promelectronica for its MAPS Microprocessor Level-Crossing Protection System, 2nd place to OJSC Izhevsk Radio Plant for its integrated locomotive safety device KLUB-U, and 3rd place to JSC Firm TVEMA for its contactless automatic rail scanner for mobile devices on the BARS non-destructive testing system.
