Oleg Belozerov opens V International Railway Salon EXPO 1520
Oleg Belozerov, President of OJSC Russian Railways, has opened the V International Railway Salon Equipment and Technologies EXPO 1520.
The opening ceremony was held at the Experimental Ring of the Scientific Research Institute of Railway Transport in Moscow on 2 September 2015 and was attended by a delegation from the Company.
Opening the ceremony, Belozerov delivered a message from Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to the Salon's participants.
"Every two years, in the capital of Russia, EXPO 1520 brings together representatives from leading companies in all countries which use the common 1520mm broad gauge track. In just 10 years, it has become the largest rail exhibition in Eastern Europe and the CIS. The focus of the exhibition is traditionally on the latest engineering and design developments in rolling stock and track equipment, communications, transportation management and automation and remote control. These areas represent the future of rail transport, which is in turn playing a key role in international integration, the effective development of regions and countries, improving mobility and raising living standards," said Medvedev's statement.
According to Oleg Belozerov, the exhibition is of great interest. "There are more than 100 exhibits on display. The exhibition is unusual because it has a dynamic component, and new models appear every time. And of course EXPO 1520 not only demonstrates achievements, but is also a platform for concluding contracts and discussion," said the head of OJSC Russian Railways.
SALON EXPO 1520 will be held from 2-5 September 2015. The exhibition presents the latest achievements in the field of railway equipment, technology, infrastructure, rolling stock and locomotive traction in the form of static and dynamic exhibits.
The Salon's visitors include managers and experts from both producers and consumers of railway equipment from the broad and narrow gauge networks.
Visitors will be able to see in motion both historic and the most modern rolling stock used on the railway network of OJSC Russian Railways. Visitors can also take part in a familiarisation tour in Stadler double-decker passenger coaches.
The Salon will host the International Conference "Railway Engineering. Prospects, Technologies, Priorities". The event's agenda includes the problems involved in lean manufacturing and economising resources, technical regulation, engineering, construction and the modernisation of railway infrastructure.
