Leaders of OJSC Russian Railways and Republic of Ingushetia discuss cooperation prospects
Promising directions for the development of railway transport in the Republic of Ingushetia were discussed during a bilateral meeting between Mikhail Akulov, Vice-President of OJSC Russian Railways, and Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Head of the Republic.
Issues discussed included the possibility of increasing the capacity of branded train No. 145/146 between Nazran - Moscow and the development of tourist traffic, as well as expanding the geography of passenger transport from Ingushetia to Almaty, St. Petersburg and Adler.
"We are working on the joint development of solutions that will improve the efficiency of our cooperation. The strategic goal was set three years ago, and we are taking active steps to improve the quality of rail transport services," said Mikhail Akulov.
As Yunus-Bek Yevkurov stressed, constructive business cooperation facilitates the successful implementation of projects aimed at improving the population's accessibility to transport in the region.
Cooperation between OJSC Russian Railways and the Republic of Ingushetia has already resulted in the launch of branded train No. 145/146 Nazran - Moscow, which entered service in early 2013 and is operated by the Federal Passenger Company. This project allowed the region to create more than 100 new jobs since the train is serviced by a team of conductors drawn from Ingushetia's residents.
During the meeting, the team of conductors of branded train No. 145 Nazran - Moscow was given an award for professionalism and courage on 11 August 2015, when they extinguished a fire in the path of the train. Mikhail Akulov and Yunus-Bek Yevkurov expressed their thanks and handed gifts to distinguished employees at the official awards ceremony.
