High-speed Strizh trains transport more than 200,000 passengers
A ceremony was held on 11 August 2015 at Kursk railway station in Moscow to celebrate the 200,000th passenger to travel by the Strizh train. The passenger in question was Yekaterina Shipelova.
Deputy Managing Director Oleg Nikitin congratulated Yekaterina Shipelova on behalf of
the Federal Passenger Company.
"In just a little over two months, Strizh trains have transported more than 200,000 passengers," said Oleg Nikitin, who went on to say that the Strizh accounts for "about half of all passenger traffic between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod."
Yekaterina Shipelova said it was very nice to see such a high level of service on Russia's railways, and all the more to receive such a pleasant surprise as the 200,000th Strizh passenger.
During the ceremony, the passenger was awarded the RZD Bonus membership card, which gives her membership in the loyalty programmes, as well as other souvenirs.
