More than 3.6 million passengers travel to Russian resorts on long-distance trains

During two summer months of 2015, trains operated by the Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, carried some 18.5 million passengers, including more than 3.6 million who visited the resorts of the North Caucasus and the Black Sea coast.

Some passenger routes have seen passenger numbers increase by more than 20% compared to 2014. Passenger traffic with Adler has increased by 21%, with Sochi by 8% and with Krasnodar by 9%.

The double-decker train No.104 / 103 Moscow - Adler is particularly popular and carried more than 90,000 passengers, 28% higher than during same period in 2014.

More than 180,000 passengers travelled to the Crimean Federal District, 22% more than in 2014, including 18,000 passengers by rail-ferry service, up 50%, and 163,000 passengers by "single" tickets to Crimea, a rise of 20%.
