Sapsan high-speed trains transport 361,071 passengers in July 2015


Sapsan trains are steadily increasing the number of passengers being carried in 2015. In July 2015, they transported 361,071 passengers, 66.5% more than in 2014.

In total, the Sapsan high-speed train service between St. Petersburg - Moscow was used by 2,288,671 passengers. during January-July 2015, 52% more than in the same period last year.

Since coming into service, high-speed Sapsan trains have transported about 15,902,420 passengers.

In 2015, the number of Sapsan tickets issued on the Internet has been growing steadily, with 2,006,437 being sold in the 7 months of 2015, 595,219 more than last year (+ 42.2%).

It should be noted that Sapsan tickets sold over the Internet account for 87% of the total number of tickets sold for these of trains.

The increase in the number of passengers transported by Sapsan trains is due to the adoption of additional organisational and technical measures to improve the quality of passenger services, such as increased frequency of trains, the composition of the Sapsans, a flexible fare policy and individual discounts on personalised road maps etc.
