Russian Railways' network transported 96.6 m passengers in July 2015
According to the latest figures, the Russian Railways' infrastructure transported 96.6 m passengers in July 2015, 4.4% fewer than in July 2014. Suburban passenger numbers rose to 85.2 m, an increase of 4.3%, while long-distance passengers saw a 5.1% jump to 11.4 m.
Passenger turnover in July 2015 amounted to 14.8 billion passenger-kilometres, 7% less than during July 2014.
In January-July 2015, a total of 584.7 m passengers were recorded, an increase of 4.8% compared to January-July 2014. Suburban passengers amounted to about 529 m, an increase of 4.7%, while long-distance passenger numbers rose 6% to 55.7 m.
Passenger turnover on the Russian Railways' network since the beginning of 2015 decreased by 7.9% compared to last year and amounted to 67.6 billion passenger-kilometres.
