Russian Railways resumes passenger services between Moscow and Tallinn

On 10 July 2015, train No. 34/33 began regular daily services between Moscow - St. Petersburg - Tallinn.

Train No. 34/33 is operated by the Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, and has been laid on in consultation with Estonian Railways.

Trains No. 812/811 Tallinn - St. Petersburg and No. 34/33 Tallinn – Moscow, which were operated by AS GoRail, were cancelled in May 2015 at the initiative of the Estonian side.

Russian Railways is interested in organising stable international passenger traffic between Russia and Estonia. The Federal Passenger Company, which transports passengers on long distance and international routes, has therefore developed the best option for the Moscow - Tallinn train via St. Petersburg.

Train No. 34/33 will depart from Moscow at 21:20 and arrive in St. Petersburg at 05:16 and in Tallinn at 13:38. Total travel time will be 16 hours 18 minutes.

On the return journey the train will depart from the capital of Estonia at 15:20 on 11 July 2015, arriving in St. Petersburg at 23:07 and in Moscow at 09:32. The travel time is 18 hours 12 minutes.

The train consists of compartment, couchette and general carriages and a staff car, as well as a compartment designed for one passenger with disabilities and an accompanying passenger.
