Russian Railways' network loaded 97.3 m tons in June 2015

According to the latest figures, loading on the network of Russian Railways in June 2015 amounted to 97.3 m. tons, 3.3% less than in June 2014.

Freight turnover in June 2015 decreased by 2.2% compared to June 2014 and amounted to 184.6 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover including empty wagon runs decreased by 2% to 237.1 billion ton-km.

According to the latest figures, loading between January-June 2015 amounted to 588.9 m. tons, 1.8% less than during the same period in 2014.

In January-June 2015, the railways shipped the following goods. The figures in brackets show the percentage changed compared to January-June 2014.

  • coal – 155.6 m. tons (+3.3%);
  • coke – 5.6 m. tons (-1.5%);
  • oil and oil products – 126.9 m. tons (-0.9%);
  • iron and manganese ores – 54 m. tons (+0.3%);
  • ferrous metals – 36.2 m. tons (+2.6%);
  • ferrous metal scrap – 7.2 m. tons (no change);
  • chemical and mineral fertilisers – 25.4 m. tons (+0.7%);
  • cement – 13.5 m. tons (-13.6%);
  • timber – 20.4 m. tons (+2.3%);
  • grain and milled products – 7.8 m. tons (+15%);
  • construction materials – 57 m. tons (-18.5%);
  • non-ferrous ores and sulphur – 10 m. tons (+3.2%);
  • chemicals and soda – 12.5 m. tons (-3.7%);
  • industrial raw materials and moulded materials – 16.4 m. tons (-4.4%).

Freight turnover since the beginning of 2015 amounted to 1.123 billion tariff ton-km, a decline of 0.7% compared to the same period in 2014. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was 1,444.1 billion ton-kilometres, a fall of 1.1%.
