Russian Railways sees increased interest in joint projects on the international market
On 8 November 2019, Oleg Belozerov, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, held a conference call with the heads of the railways on the Company’s performance in the 10 months of 2019 to the end of October and the tasks for November.
The Company CEO noted the growing interest of foreign countries in partnership with Russian Railways, with meetings taking place at the highest level in October within the framework of projects in Cuba, Serbia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia etc.
"I would like to emphasise that interest in Company’s results is growing. This is undoubtedly a consequence of our work’s excellent results in recent years," said Oleg Belozerov.
The CEO also noted that the freight tariff turnover during the ten months from January to October 2019 increased by 0.8%, with the loading volume rising to 1.066 billion tons of cargo.
The Company’s passenger complex also turned in positive dynamics in all key indicators during the same period. Passenger turnover increased by 3%, with suburban passenger turnover up by 3.9% and long-distance turnover by 2.7%.
Oleg Belozerov also announced the results of the competition of labour collectives for the third quarter of 2019, with 211 teams recognised as winners in accordance with a decision by the Company’s Board.
