President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov holds conference call to sum up Company's
work in January 2017
The President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov has held a conference call on
the Company's results for January 2017.
Belozerov paid particular attention to improving efficiency and creating the conditions
for the development of the Russian economy.
"Solving these problems should be based on systematic work. This understanding
includes improving our customer focus, optimising costs, innovative development, anti-corruption
and the fight against illegal actions and promoting international cooperation, as
well as the most important area of our work, namely the Company's social and human
resources policy," said the President of Russian Railways.
Analysing the Company's key performance indicators, Oleg Belozerov said that the
volume of freight loaded in January 2017 exceeded 100 million tons, which is 6.7%
more than in January 2016.
Freight tariff turnover increased by 11.1% and by 10.7% taking into account empty
wagon runs of privately owned wagons.
The Company President said that the priority in 2017 was to improve delivery speeds.
In January 2017, the delivery speed of loaded shipments amounted to 408.2 kilometres
per day, an increase of 0.8% compared to January 2016. Over 97% of freight shipments
were delivered on time.
Labour productivity of employees engaged in transportation activities increased
by 14% in January.
Oleg Belozerov reminded his audience that a momentous event for the entire industry
had occurred at the end of January 2017.
Russia's President Vladimir Putin awarded the Order For Services to the Motherland
I Class to Gennady Fadeyev, the first President of Russian Railways.
"In the glorious list of the full Knights of this high state award there is now
someone from the rail sector, our colleague, teacher and professional guide and mentor.
His award is a source of great honour and pride to Russia's railways," said Oleg Belozerov.
