RZD Holding organises container shipments from China’s Shandong province to Moscow
The RZD Holding has expanded the geography of rail transportation from China to
Russia. On 13 November 2018, a container train was dispatched from Zibo in Shandong
Province for the first time.
The train is expected to arrive at Selyatino station in the Moscow region in 14
RZD Logistics organised the "first mile" of the delivery of forty-foot containers
with consumer goods, equipment and vehicles to Zibo station by road. Then, 36 containers
were reloaded onto the railway.
The train will pass through China, Mongolia and Russia via the Zamyn-Uud and Naushki
border crossings before arriving at its final destination, Selyatino station in the
Services along the new route are expected to commence on a regular basis.
The RZD Holding is consistently expanding its transportation geography based on
the needs of shippers.
The starting point of the new route, the city of Zibo, is a large industrial centre
with a developed railway infrastructure, which lends the project great potential.
Shippers in the eastern part of China are increasingly choosing to transport their
freight by rail, which ensures high speed deliveries and cargo security.
