Art exhibition on Russia's railways opens in Paris
The final exhibition of the project "10 Exhibitions at 10 Stations" opened yesterday at the Gare Aeroport Charles de Gaulles in the French capital Paris. The exhibition has been organised jointly with the support of Russian Railways and the French national railway company SNCF.
The project "10 Exhibitions at 10 Stations" is part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Russian Railways, which was founded in 2003, and combines a thematic focus with the idea of preserving the best traditions and historical memory. Artistic images of Russia's railways have long since become an integral part of our country's history and have had a major impact on the domestic visual arts and culture in general.
The authors of the works presented in the exhibition are artists from all over Russia and finalists from the All-Russian Contest of Paintings and Drawings, which was dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Russia's railways.
Visitors to the exhibition can see 40 reproductions of works of art that reflect the modern era of Russia's railways. The exhibition was presented in Nizhniy Novgorod, Samara, Astrakhan, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Sochi and Khabarovsk from March to November this year.
The exhibition runs until 27 December 2013.
