Allegro passenger numbers increased by 14.5% in January 2020
In January 2020, Allegro trains carried 42,400 passengers between St. Petersburg and Helsinki. 14.5% more than in January last year.
Since the launch of the international high-speed service between St. Petersburg and Helsinki on 12 December 2010, Allegro trains have transported almost 3.9 million people.
Flexible fares and marketing initiatives, as well as the earlier availability of tickets, have greatly contributed to the increasing attractiveness of Allegro trains on the part of passengers. On days when there is high demand, dual trains with double the usual number of carriages are laid on. In addition, all Allegro trains were modernised last year.
Allegro high-speed trains account for about 86% of the total traffic between Russia and Finland.
Passengers can obtain detailed information about the Allegro timetable and fares, as well book tickets, at rail ticket offices, from the official website of Russian Railways and on the mobile app RZD Passengers.
When selling tickets, payments are made in roubles at the rate set by the Central Bank of Russia on the day the tickets are booked.
